Join us and make your own beautiful Indian block printed footstool using fabric that you have printed by hand.  In the morning you will have a block printing demonstration and then you will practise until you are ready to print the fabric that will be used to upholster your footstool.  You will be able to choose from a wide variety of wooden blocks and colours to create a design that is unique to you and which complements your home decor.

After lunch you will be given a step by step guide on how to assemble and upholster your footstool.  Marea and Helen will teach you the basics of upholstery and assist you as you build your own footstool from scratch.  There will be a choice of different styles of legs for your footstool so that you can select a design to suit your own taste and that complements your block printed fabric.

Your completed footstool will measure approximately 12 inches in length by 9 inches in width.  The height of your footstool will depend on your choice of legs.

 This Wellness Day workshop is a celebration of our deep, inherent connection to the natural world, offering an opportunity to rediscover the truth that we are not separate from nature—we are nature.

Let yourself be immersed in nature and work with a selection of freshly foraged plants, leaves and flowers while learning the art of hand mixing inks and printing onto sustainable papers to create your very own nature prints. You will be given a printer’s notebook to record your first prints. After lunch you will focus on creating your very own A3 nature print to take home and enjoy as a reminder of your day with The Nature Printer at Highgrove.
